Hello from Belle!
Hi everyone,
We just got a Staffy cross from the RSPCA the other day and she is beautiful.
She is only 1 years old and is very friendly.
Has anyone got any tips for trying to get her to let us know when she needs to go out for a wee or poo. She keeps doing it in the house and it would be better if she went outside....... but she never does it when we go for walks.

Re: Hello from Belle!
Hi & Welcome to the Forum from Flo and me
Well done on the rescue, can't wait to see a pic of Belle.
Toilet training is usually fairly simple with Staffies as they learn very quickly. Offer the use of the garden at regular intervals and when she goes outside praise, praise, praise and treat. If she goes indoors don't make a fuss simply clean the mess with a good deodorising cleaner, dogs tend to go where they've been before unless cleaned up.
Same thing on walks, when she goes make it the best thing ever, you will look nuts but it's only until she gets the idea

Re: Hello from Belle!
Hi from me and mine
Fantastic news about the rescue, Belle's a lucky girl. I'd love to hear more about her, do you have any background?
And yes, follow Ian's advice on the house training and she'll come right. It can sometimes just be a question of settling down. Do use a proper urine deodoriser when cleaning up in the house as ordinary cleaners won't get rid of the smell enough for a dog and that can encourage them to keep going inside as it smells right.
