Poop disposal
As the title suggests, how are you disposing of your doggy poop ?
I pick up in scented bags but they aren’t really hiding the smell for long. Then weekly disposal of poop bags.
Have looked into mini garden septic tank principle but the maintenance products are pricey.
Any recommendations ?

Re: Poop disposal
Is household waste collected differently in France to the UK? As we just put Hank’s in the little disposable bags and in our wheelie bin with all our other rubbish.. or if we are out on a walk there’s bins dotted about for dog poop

Re: Poop disposal
Household waste is picked up once a week.
Can’t put bags in bin like you because of the smell despite perfumed bags
Same problem for kitchen bin and even the bin in the stables.
Am currently trying the LitterLocker plus.
First week is encouraging but need longer to decide

Re: Poop disposal
Aah we keep our bin outside so the smell doesn’t bother me but I just collect them all and put them all in one carrier bag and put in the bin just before our bin is due for collection.. wish ours was weekly though we are on fortnightly

Re: Poop disposal
If Katy goes at home, I pick hers up in kitchen roll & pop it down the loo If I have to carry a bag home, then not being gross leave it outside to cool down then pop it in the bin. Not smelly then.

Re: Poop disposal
Not smelly if cold ? Will have to try that here
Then again, I suppose plastic poop bags are meant to be fairly airtight and perfumed ones especially to smell better ?

Re: Poop disposal
Hank done 3 today on our walk this morning! 3! The way I went there wasn’t a bin for ages and I could certainly smell them through the perfumed bags until I could drop them in the bin

Re: Poop disposal
Chase usually goes tthe Times in the morning and once or twice in the afternoon/evening, he's always been the same even after changing his food!
We pick up with scented poop bags from pets at home (now trying out the tails.com bags) and either put them in the wheelie bin if he goes in the garden or in the dog poop bins dotted around the village.
I did pop a bag in someone else's bin yesterday on the way back from the commons. My fingers were freezing and I could barely hold it anymore!
I left the owner of the bin (a good friend) a lovely text message saying I'd left them a goodbye gift from us made by chase lol.
I won't repeat what the reply message said after she checked in her bin Lmao!

Re: Poop disposal
We pop the poop bag in the nearest bin in the lark and at home wait till it's cold then bag and bin it in the outside bin. Can be a little ripe if really hot day but otherwise never notice it.

Re: Poop disposal
Since going raw Gus goes once in the morning and once in the afternoon. The best bit is it hardly smells either. We just have to put up with feeding tripe sometimes which smells worse than any poo

Re: Poop disposal
Well small feedback after a fortnight of using the litter locker.
I can’t say that there’s no smell but it is greatly reduced in the bin itself. Then I close the bag for weekly disposal at rubbish tip.
Wish there was an easier way but then again, I don’t need a carrier bag for each poop !

Nifty is on 4 a day at home : morning, lunchtime, when I get in from work and sometimes a late night poop before going to bed.

Re: Poop disposal
Do you have your horses at home? We just sling anything they do in the garden on what was the muck heap when I had the pones. It then just rots down.

Re: Poop disposal
Yep, horses at home but I don’t have a muck heap ...
Soiled shavings in stables go in bins which are emptied weekly at rubbish tip (green organic waste). I couldn’t face doggy poop smeared in the bins
