Contradictory training between family members
I’ve always been strict with my animals and consider that when I’m around, I expect certain ground rules to be respected.
I love them all but have to be in control at all times possible.
(How we achieve it is another long debate)
OH complains that Nifty play-bites his hands all of the time but never with me. From the start, I encouraged her not to inteact with her teeth so she doesn’t with me. OH often lets her bite so she continues even when OH thinks the game is over.
Same for play attacking by licking - I don’t encourage her but OH will encourage it = consequence
If OH won’t follow my ground rules, I suppose there’s nothing I can do for his problem with Nifty.
In any case, she appears more than able to tell the difference between us and to know what she can get away with and with who.

Sadly, this is all too common with OHs. Join the club, it's a big one.

I agree with you. If you allow something they will do it. Misty begs at my parents table but not at home!

Yup they are master manipulators and know who will give what. Actually, it's a bit like kids they are the same. Now thankfully both my kids and Flo know how to behave perfectly outdoors but indoors it's a different ball game all together!
