Hi, newbie to Staffy ownership, we have bought our 9 week old Staffy and named him Jabba, hes really bubbly but struggling to get him to settle at night at the moment but the vet told us to persevere so we can do no more, but any suggestions will be appreciated,

Hi ya, welcome to the forum from Flo & me
When you say settled at night do you mean crying? you could try leaving Jabba with an item of clothing that you've worn and has your scent on, this often provides enough of a comfort. I've also heard of people using a ticking clock nearby but not sure about that one myself.
Things will get better over time and roll on the lighter evenings when you can get Jabba outside so he uses some of that energy before settling down for the night

hi & welcome!
as Ian says, perseverance is the key. he will settle eventually, but it's all new to him & he's used to having his litter mates around for company.

Hi and welcome to the forum from Tess and myself.Don't worry he will settle, some take longer than others. When we collected Tess the breeder gave me a piece of blanket that had the smell of her mother and siblings on it,I think that helped a lot as we have never had a sound from Tess at night in her crate from the very first night.I think I have been very lucky with Tess who has gone outside to do her jobs from the very first day we had her,and has never even soiled her cage at night.Lucky yes but believe me she makes up for it in other ways She is a right rascal most of the time.I wouldn't change it for the world.

Hi welcome to the forum. We crate trained Gus. For the first few nights we had the crate next to our bed then slowly moved it further away from the bed until he was out of the bedroom. We also made sure the crate was packed with teddies so he could snuggle up. Gus loves his crate and sleeps all night in it now. I'm sure Jabba will settle soon.
