Debo and Rocco's relationship on the mend

We've met with a dog trainer. After an hour of watching the dogs, lots of training and even more advices we are all more positive. She said there is no aggression, they don't hate each other. Because Rocco hasn't been sociolized with other dogs,he doesn't know how to read their body language. And she said that Debo is sending him lots of messages but Rocco doesn't know how to read them. She said that Debo doesn't feel comfortable around Rocco at this point cause he can't trust him and he thinks he will need to use his straight again. That's why he avoids him.
We practicing together with two dogs now, it's going ok. Rocco is learning a lot, he's slowly getting that jumping and being rude won't get him any friends. Debo is learning how to relax around him.
She said there is possibility that they won't be friends,cause Rocco's arrival turned debos life upside. And down. And oh boy, he loves his routine and his two legs friends. But by training they will learn how to respect one another and be around each other.

Thanks for the update, very interesting. That's why hands on (or that eyes on) help is so valuable - a professional trainer can see so much.

On the one hand it's sad if the two of them don't become besties, but if you can get to the point of them being comfortable with each other at least you'll have an acceptable outcome.

Good on you all for working on this, a lot of people wouldn't have bothered.

She said it's not 100% they won't become beasties but it's possible.
We will use her again, we the dogs are comfortable around each other outside. She could help us with indoor training.
She has opened my eyes in what we were doing wrong and why it all went down the hill at some point. It's very helpful
