Doggie coats for staffies
Just bought a coat for Lola my staffy ,she doesn't seem to like the rain and we get plenty here in Ireland,I wonder is it really necessary for this type of dog ?

We got this for Misty in a medium. It's so cold here and she hates the rain too. She doesn't particularly like putting it on but she's not a hairy dog and its so cold out at the moment.

I think it's one of many Staffy quirks! In our training class if the grass is even slightly wet she will not lie down unless there is a blanket. All the other dogs, a yorkie, king Charles, Collie and Sheltie are fine but she won't. No wonder our trainer calls her a little diva

I've often wondered if they don't like the rain as they have short hair. My Flo doesn't mean ch care for her coat but will happily wear it.

Re: Doggie coats for staffies
My Dodger used to be terrible with the rain, wouldn't go out for walks or go into the garden. Strangely, this year he's fine with it and even walks through puddles!
He does have a nice coat for the really cold days though, as he shivers on frosty mornings! I got it in Pets At Home, it's a smart, quilted style with a corduroy collar and a pocket on the back! He doesn't mind wearing it at all, I think he knows it keeps him warm. They are such babies!

Re: Doggie coats for staffies
Duke wears a coat as he doesn't like the rain, or the cold he just sits and shivers.
I am not sure if he likes it as he does seem to shake a lot when he has it on, but it keeps him warm and saves having the wet dog smell

Hi Ian yes Lola wear hers quite happily ,she is the first staffy I have had and I can honestly say the most mannerly and well behaved dog I have ever known.-Ian- wrote:I've often wondered if they don't like the rain as they have short hair.
