New to raw feeding question.
Hi all,
New here so I am hoping this is the right place to ask.. We have a young rescue boy, mainly staff with a little lab in him. He is 7 months, was underweight when we got him but he is now around the correct weight. I have been looking a lot into moving him onto a BARF diet as the health benefits seem really good and it works out cheaper than a premium biscuit diet which he must get bored of.
My local raw pet food supplier (bulmer pet foods) does the following mixes, if I brought all 3 and alternated daily would this give a sufficient balanced raw diet.
Minced salmon and chicken with added kelp at 80/20 mix containing 20% bone
Chicken and tripe mix 50/50 with 20%bone
Chicken and liver 90/10mix with 20% bone again.
Or would. Be better with the first 2 and adding offel myself with each? Or go for the same mixes bone free and supplement with chicken wings / necks etc. He will also get treats of bull pizzle and wings / necks etc anyway but not as frequent if his meals contain the bone required for a healthy diet.
Thanks in advance, sorry for the noob question I just don't want our boy to end up malnourished or not getting all he needs.

to be honest, the bone content is too high, and as it's a ready-mixed food you can't adjust it. the normal ratios are 80% meat, 10% offal (with at least half of that being liver) and 10% bone. if you want to feed a ready-mixed raw i would go for one that has ONE protein source (not mixed as that one is) and contains the right ratios.
