Staffie quirks
Hi guys 'n' girls
So as the title says what little quirks do's your four legged friends have.
Max has one where sometimes i don't think he knows if he needs a poop or a piddle as he sometimes lifts a leg to wee and the has a poop instead, not so funny when he a iffy tummy ( i wont go into detail you can imagine what runs down his leg)

So I will kick it off, come on people, they all have quirks so let’s hear them
The Tedster – AKA Teddy
Poop – has to be in the right place. Obviously I don’t mean indoors or outdoors. But the spot has to be right which means going round and round in circles a few times.
Chicken – He gets chicken once a week on a Monday. I have one leg on Sunday for roast dinner and the other leg cold on Monday or Tuesday. Ted gets the rest and he spins in circles before I put his bowl down he doesn’t do this with his normal food.
Favourite Places – Pretty much any place I have been sitting or laying.
The Paw Wiping thing Scraping the ground – Not just after going toilet but pretty much anywhere that needs to be marked.

Re: Staffie quirks
Ah yeah, finding just the right spot to poo or pee is a tough one, it can take ages and then if Flo gets distracted she starts all over again
Cleaning the paws after a poo is hit or miss but zoomies if she is at all constipated is a dead cert!!
Flo has never been a table begger but Sunday's are most definitely fair game these days, she knows it's a roast and will sit patiently with those big brown eyes looking up at each of us in turn and when we are finished she will dash to the kitchen for left over meat (I think that might be our fault though)
If we walk to her small park we absolutely have to cross the road at exactly the same place and she will pull to get to the other kerb if we try a diagonal cross... That's a no no in her book every time

If you try and pull Rio away from something he's trying to smell, he will just go splat on the floor until he's done sniffing

Re: Staffie quirks
buddy will not leave his bowl on the floor or in his crate he has to take it with him wherever he goes even trying to bring it on walks!
when he poops he walks away and then goes back and sniffs -make sure its his and then we have zoomies for about 10 mins so pleased with himself that he has been ..
and food well will only eat in his crate with it covered up .. and has to turn his dish upside down to eat the food of the floor of the crate - wont eat it if I put it straight on the floor he has to do it... then he covers his dish with his blanket and uses it as a pillow
they are very odd dogs !!

Una's a one for the zoomies when wet and round the garden zoomies when needing to poo but not quite ready.
Not that interested in digging ... unless I'm trying to weed and then Una decides to enthusiastically help dig down to the clay under my soil

mia likes a zommie after a spattering of rain, howling for a treat after her walk (this just been in the last year) , bangs her dishes together when shes ran out of water, obsessive sniffing and wnt move till shes done has a particular favourite spot for a wee (also in the last year ) , looks at me when I give her a treat as if to say is that it??
always does her tricks for a treat or she howls at me and runs to the treat cupboard . she nudges her lead if she wants a walk . I could go on all day

The thing about having to cross at only certain points, Dodger does it too.So annoying. Dodge doesn't like it if I take him by a different route either and will just lie down. They are the most stubborn breed of dog!

Re: Staffie quirks
Daisy lays down outside the toilet door when I go and puts her head right near the join, so every time I open the door she gets bumped on the nose, so sometimes I just leave it open.
Also if she is on the lead and she wants to get to a person or a dog to say hello she will roll onto the floor and roll around spinning like a crocodile, she is ridiculous even at her old age of 10.
Also when I used to put a halti on her years ago when I had a dodgey back she used to smile as I put it on.

Oh! I remembered today, Una does a "happy pig in mud" noise when she's snuggled on the couch at night, it's like a deep breath out with a hum. It's like my clocking out noise as I know she's not going to want much / move much after that

Re: Staffie quirks
Got another one for you all which I forgot about.
As part of what I do as a webmaster for a friends website I run two laptops, my main one which I use all the time and an old scruffy one which is used for test purposes so I don’t care if it gets trashed.
Now it’s fair to say the old one has had a very hard life and is sensitive to movement because the power socket is knackered and I can’t be arsed to fix it. I have been known to utter unprintable expletives at this machine and maybe bang the keyboard in frustration a few times.
So here is the point. Ted knows the difference between the two machines! The old one beeps if the power fails but I only have to pick it up (no beeps) and he runs for his safe place which is our bed! He doesn’t even have to see me pick it up, he can be asleep on the arm chair and he is up and off before the thing has booted up.
Makes me think if they can hear some kind of high frequency noise coming from either the power supply or the machine itself and that’s how he knows the difference plus daddy has been known to loose his temper when using it which as we all know Staffies are sensitive to.

Harley makes his bed comfy by puffing it up a lot, he can do it for a good few mins always hear him when settling for bed.
Zoomies after the rain or when he's had a poo. Yawns a lot and makes the most bizzare noises. Has an obsession with licking your ears off. X

Lexi will not sit on the floor. She will sit on a piece of paper to not be sitting on the floor! Most of the time it is boots, bowls, leaves, a brush etc...anything usable to not sit lol
