rash thing...
Just wondering if any one has seen something like this -
Russell has a small rash around his belly button its red and fairly even around the belly button but not perfectly circular or anywhere else on the body (which makes me think its not ring worm)
I noticed it the other day just a little bit red, now it has started getting dry and staying red, but not spreading or anything.
I plan to take him to the vet if it gets any worse but just keeping my eye on it for now. I was wondering, does anyone know if it would be okay to treat it with paw paw ointment (lip balm stuff every one uses) or sorbalene or something?
another thing he has is this off white gunk has started appearing in the corner of his eyes only recently, but it seems to be appearing only after he wakes up so starting to assume its just like the 'sleep' we get.
thanks!

When Moo gets a little rash I use sudacream (being a div, I haven't heard of the other 2 that you mentioned!) And it usually clears up too, and yes she gets sleepy dust in her eyes when she wakes up too. Obviously as you said keep an eye on it, as long as its not excessive I hope he gets well soon

Re: rash thing...
Meg I use calamine lotion on my staffy's tummy if it is red and itchy for no apparent reason.. it is lovely and soothing on their skin. Just put in on a cotton ball and wipe over the rash...
