cracked paw pad?
Ok, so Gizmo's got what looks like a long crack in one of his paw pads. Not sure if it's hurting him, but he's been a total cuddlepud ever since we got back from the park so I think it might be. He was absolutely coated in smelly mud, so I gave him a full-on bath with shampoo and dried him off with towels. It took him a couple of attempts to come up on the bed and he won't really let me look at it. Pretty sure the bath would have got rid of any dirt, and I can't see anything trapped in it. Could his paw just have cracked because it's dry? Doesn't look like a cut.
He's always favoured his back legs a bit due to scraping all the skin off one side of his leg and then as soon as it was healed he run through a molehole or something in the park.
Should I get something to rub into his pads to stop this from happening?
Phone is stuffed, or I'd photo it to show you.

Re: cracked paw pad?
I'd rub some coconut oil into the pad twice a day & make sure the pads are cleaned when you come in. it might just be a reaction to the weatger, but the coconut oil should help.
