So many things wrong about crufts,,,,,,, but I do record and watch it all

Hmm i thought there would have been more topic about this!

Winner was well deserved in my opinion.

The GSD has caused uproar though.

I'm not a watcher, not for any real reason other than I can think of better things to do

So who/what won and what's with the GSD ?

A super little westie won. Lovely body and balance and an amazing expression. Really top dog.




This is the GSD that won best in breed.

Not only are both dogs horrifically handled, they are both horrible examples of a good GSD. At the start of tonight crufts, the panel (KC rep, vet and commentator inc Clare balding) all agreed that the GSDs were awful and the winner was the worst one. KC are "looking into it"

What was with the hind down thing.. To be honest I think I've seen better GSD's over the park

Show GSDs have been going down hill...forgive the pun...for a long time now.

Long gone are the powerful guard/herd dog and here is the pathetic show dog.

Really did'nt enjoy it this year,loved the little Westie but the poor GS dog

I hate Crufts. I hate breeding for looks. I would love to do away with non-working showing altogether, be it for dogs, horses, anything. Breeding should be about health, soundness and temperament.

It's not just the GSD, I found the video of that poor little Pekingese, Eric, who was primped and puffed until only his face showed, looking distressed and unhappy, equally upsetting to watch. And those are the only two bits I've seen.

One of the (many) things I love about staffies is that they are still proper dogs, that they don't have faults bred into them as part of their breed standard.

As for the Kennel Club... weren't they supposed to be sorting this all out after the last stink a few years ago? Or was that just so many words till things quietened down, then back to business as usual?

ill have to get a clear standing shot of faldo to show you how a german shepherd should look its.a.shame.for the dogs in crufts and a form of animal cruelty.

I have seen the picture of that poor Gsd. Can't believe she would win best in breed, it's unbelievable.
I have got Crufts to watch on the planner but I just like the agility and the Staffs in the fly ball.

On a happier note Scrufts is on ch4 tonight so I'm hoping that will be fun to watch!

Yes the poor GSD but Geordie Girl the westie was a stunner I was hoping though Hazel the Whippet would win but she took second

Just watching Crufts for the agility now and they had Hunter from Gladiators on talking about dogs. He has a rescue staff from Battersea. I do love it when people mention they have staffs.
