Puppy weights
A question for the wise staffy owners here.
Rosie is 13 weeks old now and is 6.6kgs when we went to the vet today.
Given that females range from 11-15kgs is Rosie within a typical weight range for a puppy her age?

Re: Puppy weights
Those weight guidelines are for KC standards, Staffies come in all sizes as Katy last weighed in at 25kgs!!! Rosie looks like she's growing well

Re: Puppy weights
Weight varies between each dog to be honest. The best guidance that I've been given is that you should be able to feel the ribs but not see them sticking out and have a nice shaped waist.

Re: Puppy weights
Sounds about right! People do seem to be breeding Staffies bigger and bigger these days, but they will have been crossed with a bigger dog at some stage so they're technically not Staffies Bug is a cross but she weighs 18.5kg which is quite big for a b*tch. Personally, I think anything that goes way over 20kg is a bit too far off standard (no offence Meant to anybody). Staffies are supposed to be small and athletic, I'm not one for adhering so strictly to standards, but just because Staffies are muscular doesn't mean that they should vary that much. Imagine having a 30kg whippet.. It would be called a lurcher..

Re: Puppy weights
Just looking at the pic of your staff looks so much like mine. I don't know much about were my staff came from or parents as I adopted him from the ispca. He's only 9 mths so I expect little bit more grown in him. I like the fact he's a good solid dog and great with my kids

He's really gorgeous! I'm not sure of my girl's background either as she was a stray that was brought into the RSPCA.. He sounds lovely
