weights
About a month ago i brought some ankle weights from argos for my dog kia.And attached them to her harness because she was really hyper and someone suggested that i try it out she loves it and when she is about to go on a walk she wont leave the house until i put the weights on and also she has put on a really nice size. So she is not a hyper maniac anymore.

Re: weights
Nice one
I was looking into buying weights for Blue before I decided to burn the extra energy by going on my bike with him.
I think tey defo need something more than the normal walk to burn that amazing amount of energy they have off a little
Kia looks really well from it too

Re: weights
I've never heard of that but sounds like a great idea, what sort of weights do you use and how do you attach them???

I watch Dragon's Den and someone had a dog treadmill on there trying to get the Dragons to invest in. Would be good for wet days.

Re: weights
they use the ordinary thread mills over here to keep their dogs fit for fighting, cruel f..k..rs, but it does go on around the country.

Re: weights
BlueStaff- it was a smaller version, looked like a real treadmill not sure how much it cost but i think it was at least 500 pounds. The inventor built it to help dogs who needed rehabilitation after surgery or had arthritis etc.

Re: weights
treadmills are a good thing but there aren't to be used to substitute walks

Re: weights
I dont really see the point in treadmills what are you gaining from using one, obviously you have to be there when the dog is using it so your not going to save any time, might aswell go to the nearest park and throw a ball around. =D>

Re: weights
Unless you have an aggressive dog.....tire him out a bit first before you go out to help improve their behaviour when out socialising with other dogs/people

Re: weights
Yeah not something i'll be buying.
I just pop him on a lead trap it in the car window and drive....find its the best way to drain that energy. I don't go fast like......about 25mph is sufficient
