Be Careful
I know most if not all of us know not to use sticks to play with our dogs but it doesn't hurt to have a little reminder...warning graphic picture.
not just for those who through sticks but also throwing toys into bushes, especially how hard our dogs run chest first into everything.

Re: Be Careful
None of mine will play with toys. Theyre really boring that way. But i suppose i will never be pulling half a rope or a tennis ball out of their butts.

Re: Be Careful
My friends dog ran into a stick that'd lodged upright in the grass. It ended up at the vets for an operation to remove it from the roof of its mouth. It nearly didn't make it as it could have entered its brain. After a couple of weeks the poor dog kept coughing and choking so she returned to the vet where after xrays and exams they found a 1 inch splinter buried in the skin at the back of the throat that had been overlooked.
Very very nasty. Saying all that though it was a thin pea stick that she'd found. I must admit I have thrown branches for Milo that are quite thick and damp but not often as usually he can't be arsed to chase after them lol.

Re: Be Careful
Oh god! I rarely play with sticks when out with Milo (he goes crazy for them and accidentally bites his tongue and stuff- lots of blood!) but I think now we'll give it up all together!

Re: Be Careful
buddy will try and pick up sticks everywhere we go and in the garden will even try and dig up the plants to get them - my poor fuchsia bushes! he knows he shouldn't have them and thinks its a great game to run away when we try and get them back - makes my heart race every time in case he hurts himself ...
