Fattening up a bitch following a litter
My staffy Roxy has had a 6 pup litter, she wont be feeding them now as she's contracted mastitis. Once treated and well again (not sure how/if the anti bios affect eating habits) I'd like to fatten her up a bit.
Are there simple ways to do so whilst also being economical?
Any advice is greatly appreciated

Up her food a bit and add some treats into the mix, bits of chicken (cooked not the store bought bleached stuff)

Yeah I gave her some earlier, been doing that a few weeks. I'm just worrying about it I think.

Whilst my bulldog was pregnant and after I was told to feed her puppy food, I used to give her scrambled egg in between as well. I'm sure there will be loads of tastey things she would love. x

puppy food may help, or if you can get hold of some green tripe? any pet store that does frozen food should stock bags of tripe chunks or mince.
if you decide on tripe, don't cook it, it smells disgusting when it's cooked!
vets aren't always tge right people to ask about the type of food. they're not trained that way & the vet practice is often tied to a commercial dog food (like hills) which often isn't very goid.
