More Than Dogs!
Hi All
My name is Conrad
I live in South Africa
I have always loved Staffs and in my opinion they are the closest thing to humans on this earth!
I Lost My best friend and my Child ( Ash ) last week Friday ( 24th July 2011 ) and am finding it so hard to come to terms with it!
I am one tough bugger and never cry.. but so far have cried every day just at the thought that I will never get to see his beautiful face and smile , how excited he gets to see me , the way he would just stare into my eyes and how regardless of my temper mood or day.. always had the power to cheer me up!
I can honestly say that I have lost a part of myself with him passing and the only solace I have is that one day I will see him in heaven again!
Many people dont understand, myself included until now, how attached we get to our staffs and they become our children!
I also have a beautiful little girl Laila whome I get for my wife who also bring us so much joy.. but doesn't come close to my Champion!
So I join your forum Sad Hoping to find some kindred spirits whom also feel the way I do about our Babies!

Re: More Than Dogs!
Hello and welcome to the forum.
We all understand how you are feeling, you've lost your precious friend. Would it possible for you to put some pictures of him in our memorial section? We'll obviously understand if you find it too painful.
R.I.P Ash, run free to the Rainbow Bridge.
Welcome, also to your new little girl, Laila!

Re: More Than Dogs!
Hi Conrad, that's a very sad introduction, and I speak for everyone here, really sorry for your lose of Ash, they are such an amzing breed and yes as close to humans as you could imagine. Your certainly in the right place, thats exactly how we feel about all our babies too. Times a great healer (your probably sick of that line!) but we are all here if you ever need a chat. Would love to see some pics of Ash when your ready. Big hugs to you Xx

Re: More Than Dogs!
A massive thank You to you all!
I knew I would find people who understand the way I feel here!
the way I look at it is thhat God Blessed me with him for the past 9 and a bit Years and taught me to love something 100% no exceptions and who loved me unconditionally!
So I am Lucky
I always say this to people who get pups!
They on average live 7 times a shorter life span than we do, so we need to give them 7 times as much love!
God Bless you All

Re: More Than Dogs!
Thank You all! so Much!
you would all be doing Ash a great honor if you would look at my post of him in the Pet Memorial section of the site.
Titled: Rest In Peace My Ash! You Will Always Be In My Heart!
I was and still am such a proud parent and want to share him with the world!
Its so Nice to meet you all and I have finally found a site full people that can relate to me 100%
Look after your Staff's because no 2 are the same and once they have snuck into your hearts .. they are there forever!

Re: More Than Dogs!
Hi Conrad,
know just how you feel, having lost our best pal Tina after over 18 years with her,
and although it six months since we lost her, its still hard,
as you say, they are part of the family,
the happy times you will have had with Ash, and having Laila will help, but you will never forget him im sure,
ratty

Thank You all for the Kind Words and I feel so much better now that I can share my story of my amazing Boy and that's something that you have to have experienced to understand!
And I have found so many of you here!
I was chatting to my mom this weekend about Ash and she said it the best!
" Dog's come and Go , and we will all have allot of pets in our lives but, there are those few that live in your heart forever "

Re: More Than Dogs!
Hi and welcome - so sorry to hear of your loss. I think only dog lovers understand how hard it is to lose a pet/child and loved part of your family - I remember when I lost my dog when I was younger a friend actually said its only a dog.
On a lighter note - love your choice of name for Laila - same as my 7 year old daughter only I spell it Leyla
