hi everyone just wonderd if anyone knew the height of ch gentleman jim i cant find it anywhere thanks

I dont know his exact height but Im sure I read it somewere that he was taller then the standard now and a big boy but someone put some old vids on in the video section have a look there

thanks gem, its just that he was the first champion and i heard he was 18" if not bigger, and just thought that seems strange that know the height is 14 to 16 weird.... thanks again

Just researched for you he was 17 and a quater inches and 38lb weight

if the staffy stuck with 18" they would of been banned when the goverment banned pitbulls so i'm glad it's 14"/16"

According to Steve Bradder book the orignal standard was 17.5 inches that last til 1948.

Weren't the older Staffords longer in the leg? Alot of breeds have changed over the decades, look at Bull Terriers today compared to ones from years ago for example.

Not really, but they were a motley crew! Some were quite stocky (Gentleman Jim for example) some were quite terrier...........
