Advice on neutering
Hi everyone want to get Harley done but looking on some opinions of others that have had their dogs done and did they notice any differences? Hes nearly 18kg and 15months old quite solid but may have some brodening still. Will me getting him done 18 months stunt his growth and effect him getting his full potential size or would his growth be unefected. Thanks

Re: Advice on neutering
My dog's 18 months old and still seems to be growing a little bit round the shoulders. I got him done at 6 months and noticed absolutely zero difference to him, the only change I saw was less weirdos asking me if I'd breed him with their dog after bumping into me on the street...

Re: Advice on neutering
I would ask ur vet beth its everybodys personal choice but a dog doesnt fully mature till 2-3 years old some people prefer not to get their dog neutered at all with a male dog its really personal choice .

Zeus is going to be 4 soon and I'm still in two minds.. I think eventually, I will get him done just to reduce prostate/testicular cancer chances etc..

Re: Advice on neutering
don't need articles and research to know that the main benefit of neutering is less unwanted puppies

but you also need to know the drawbacks, and there are quite a few. responsible owners don't have unwanted litters of pups, & if there's an 'ac ident' tgey do the right thing for tge pups.

Re: Advice on neutering
i would say 2 is a good age. millie is two and i havent had her done yet, i will at some point just not yet. the only thing you may need to watch is his weight as with males they can pile the pounds on once neutered, not every dog just something to bare in mind
Re: Advice on neutering
We had Gordon done at 1 year old, it hasn't made any difference to his growth but he has tended to put a little weight on . As for calming him down it hasn't made any difference at all, everyone has different reasons but we wanted him done to prevent any accidents
