Wonder Harness
Well after getting tired of Maya choking herself with collar and lead when out walking, i ordered one of these a couple of days ago
http://www.amazon.co.uk/UNHO%C2%AE-Padded-Harness-Adjustable-Large/dp/B00WG17CVQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1446825978&sr=8-1&keywords=unho+dog+harness.
I have to say that i am very very impressed, after adjusting the chest strap a little, out we went for a beautiful walk ( Despite the rain ) No more lunging when waiting to cross the road, and she actually listened to my `wait` command, standing there patiently till safe to cross.
Also, no pulling whatsoever !! Brilliant. It was so nice to walk her with a loose lead, which i could literally just hang off my finger. I have no idea how this harness works, but it does, and it is an absolute pleasure to walk her now.

Honestly Carol, it is well worth trying one. I`m not saying they work for every dog, but with Maya it`s like walking a totally different dog. She still likes to walk in front, and i could correct that by using her shorter lead, but i`m not bothered at all with her walking in front, as long as she isn`t pulling Brilliant piece of kit

I still can`t believe the difference it has made Crystal. I read every single review before i bought it, and most people are very impressed by them.

Re: Wonder Harness
I know and a bargain eh makes for a pleasant walk if they dnt pull constantly . Not used a harness well i did for the journey back from mias previous home but it affected her skin she had lived in it for god knows how long went in the bucket and i bought her lead and collar.used properly theyre useful its more commands than the equipment itself i believe.

Re: Wonder Harness
Interesting... I'll look into it more. I'm always interested in things like this that get good reviews.
I wonder if it's 'body hugging' bit that makes them effective? I'm a believer in a block from the front being more effective than a pull from the back, and this looks like it would feel just that.
Thanks for the info!

My Flo has a custom harness but there must be something about harnesses as Flo stopped pulling as soon as she had hers too.
Great news that you've found something that works so well Terry

Definitely worth a try for the cost. As i mentioned, they may not work for every dog, I am still in shock at the transformation though
I don`t know whether it is a comfort/security feeling what this offers, but it is bloody fantastic, and i would be out with her right now only for the bloody fireworks.

It has to be something in the design Liz, because on the one and only pull she did try, her front feet raised off the ground making it impossible

I don`t think you would be disappointed Bek, i just got back from a late night walk with Maya, and a house at the end of our street has a little snappy Terrier thing which was out in their garden. When it started doing it`s snappy stuff as we were walking past, Maya tried to pull to get at it through the fence, and all what happened were her little feet lifted off the ground, so a pull turned into a little bunny hop

I wondered where the thread had gone ! Took me ages to find it
Mia05 wrote:Wonder what size mia would need?
Just measure around Mia`s chest Crystal From the reviews i read, most people with adult staffies got a medium. I got Maya a small one, she is 60 cm around her chest, and the small is 60 cm adjustable to 75 cm, so plenty of growing room.
I just had her out over the tops again, and on our way i noticed that every time i stopped to cross a road, Maya just stopped automatically...Fantastic !!!

If you are thinking of getting one Crystal i would measure Mia just to be on the safe side, Although they are fully adjustable i think they are undersized by a few centimeters.

Re: Wonder Harness
hi going to ask a daft question when you say measure the chest do you mean behind the front legs? or the width across the front above the front legs ? I normally measure behind back legs but not sure as this harness has the padded front - was just about to order one but wasn't sure ?

Measure the circumference of her chest Crystal. so hold the tape measure on the top of her back, behind the front legs then measure around her chest. Medium should be fine for Mia

Yep I still can`t believe how good these harnesses are. Maya used to put all her focus on pulling with a collar, but i have noticed since using this, she is a lot more calm and takes in all her surroundings. I love it, and i hope yours and Crystals work just as good.

Well I received my harness on Saturday morning - took Buddy for a walk and wow no pulling - thought maybe a fluke because it was new but third day and still it works - no pulling panting gasping and the handle is great when he sees another dog and gets excited I can just hold him and make him wait - so glad you told us all about this ...you should be on commission from them LOL

Aww Carol, i`m so pleased it worked for you I am usually wary of giving recommendations, as i thought it may not work for every dog, but it seems they do !
Hopefully, he may start eating a bit better now as well, as he isn`t straining his throat on walks.

Yes they still can pull a tiny bit, but it`s not an uncomfortable pull is it ! Maya likes to walk in front, and although there is a very slight strain there, i can easily just have the lead over my finger. On the one or two occasions she did try to pull, her front feet lifted off the ground, so she doesn`t even bother trying now Brilliant design.

I want one too!! As you people said, they are sometimes like stream trains. Kiki is no different. It Goes Well for a moment and then she just dashes off. Almost always for no reason but because she can. I just do not want her to hurt herself. Already tried some different harnasses with not much succes. Only the Hunter Side by Side harnass helped when it was new but then it wore off it it does not longer disconforts her.

day 4 and we are still onto a winner - even stood and watched a GSD pup go by barking at him he just stood with me having my hand on the handle - wasn't even holding it- then just looked at me and toddled off away from the puppy normally he would have been on his back legs pulling to get to the pup or away from him and then pull like a steam train after with excitement - today calm as can be .. do find he thinks its a game when trying to get it on him but will work on that

Great result Carol The harness does seem to calm them doesn`t it ! Maya used to be all over the place Lol. now she just toddles along by my side, or in front, taking everything in.

Re: Wonder Harness
I'm very pleased with this harness too. Dodge still pulls a bit when he's excited, but the fit is great. I bought the medium which fitted him like a glove, and best of all no straps under his arms to make him sore, like so many that I've tried before. Very good value for the price.

Re: Wonder Harness
Ooh I might try one. Misty has about 12 harnesses so far but every one rubs her somewhere or just doesn't sit right. This looks a bit like the Julius k9 one I bought her but that front strap rubbed her but this one looks really well padded. Thanks for the tip!

Re: Wonder Harness
Looks really good, had been looking for a harness when Wallace outgrows his current one but did not come across this one. The handle at the top is a brilliant design feature, looks secure and comfortable too. Thanks for sharing, will go for this next.
