Whining anxiety of being alone?
hi,
I have a 9 week old staffy pup and he will not stop whining when I put him outside in the morning. Any tips? I need him to learn its ok to be by himself.
He does get a Bone when he goes outside so it's positive but he will still whines, My sister is home which she will wake later in the day.

Does he start whining immediately? How long do you leave him when he does start?
To be honest, at that age I'd be going out with him, rather than just putting him out. It's very young to be out in the world on your own and you also need to keep an eye to see what he's doing.

I would agree with the posts above. At that age they need to be supervised and praised when they've done what you want them to, that way they learn good behaviours and won't wonder why they are outside for no apparent reason.
As your pup grows you can leave them in a room alone for a few mins at a time and increase over the coming weeks so that it learns that being alone isn't scary.

I agree with all of what has been said. your pup will be scared left alone. i always used to stand outside with Maya, morning noon and night. You must remember that it has only been a week or so since your baby was taken away from mum and siblings, and they need as much love and attention as you can possibly give, until they get older.
