what kind of staffie do i have
First topic message reminder :
hey just joined right ive got a white staffie now his just about 4 month old. i just wanted to know his he a short leged or a long legged. i got his at 8 weeks old. also people keep telling me that his not a proper staffie because ive got no papers.cheers

does anybody know id its true you can pull a staffies jaw out if it pulls on things two early and if so when can i start and playing tug with him

No, you won't hurt his jaw, but you might damage his teeth.
There's no problem playing tug of war as long as you don't allow the puuling to get too hard just yet. If you just let him do the pulling, don't you pull back, and he should be ok. Once his adult teeth are all through properly and grown nice & large you can pull as well.

no a staffy cant latch no hard enough to pull his jaw out so no probs there
and i personly wouldnt teach a pup to tug train to early as iv been told it can couse eggretion later on and wait till there that little bit older and can be tought to only tug when you want them to so get the other basics out the way before you embark on this.
im not saying there is any thing wrong with tug training just not to soon.

People told me all the time my Maxxie wasnt a proper staff because we didnt have papper and he didnt look like one, People used to think he was a jack russell lol.

Also, take a look at the topic on Bandit. He was a terrier-type dog of excellent pedigree & did well at shows. He was quite long legged & his head wasn't massive, but he was every inch a stafford! Untill he was about 9 or 10 months old he was really rangy & his head looked quite weak, but he filled out & took shape by the time he was about a year or so old.

He looks fine to me took a while for my kaisers head to get big he was over one before it started getting bigger is usually the last thing to grow
