6 month old puppy cody not eating.
Hi im new to this group and owning a puppy i have a 6 month old puppy named cody.
He had a rough start in life and was a deaths door at 12 weeks as was full of worms so of course i have treated him like a baby.
He picky when it comes to food he waas prevouisly on predigree vitaul puppy and butchers wet food but found out that was rubbish so we have changed him over to wainwrights dry food which he liked but now has stopped eating it so not sure what to do .
if anyone could help me with this would be great as worried hes not eating alot and only want whats best for him.

Hi and welcome to the Forum
That was a good move with the food so here's a couple of ideas. You could try adding a little water to the dry to release some of the smell and taste and make it more appetising. You could also try rotating flavours as they can get bored with the same thing day in day out, we found this with our Flo. You could also try half and half, so half wet and half dried, again we do this with our Flo and she never refuses dinner now
When you get a min pop along to this link and say Hi:-

Re: 6 month old puppy cody not eating.
Welcome from me and Misty. Cody looks beautiful. Misty was on bakers when we got her and we changed her straightaway to wainwrights, however she stopped eating that and we then moved her to James Wellbeloved dry with some of their wet mixed in. Again she loved it at first then went off that. I then moved her on to Natures Menu, which is a raw food that comes in frozen cubes. I mix that with some of their raw tinned food. She absolutely loves this, she cries when I'm making her meals now as she's so excited. I like it as the version of Natures menu I get is grain and cereal free (they have different tins.) She is a year older then Cody so I don't know if he will need special puppy food or a vet visit to rule out anything medical. I'm sure someone else will be along soon with puppy experience.

Good on you for taking him in!
I agree with Mistys Mum, something like Nature's Menu might be more appetising and, once he's settled, you can change flavours to keep him interested. They have advice on feeding puppies on their website.

quite fancy the natures menu natures harvest myself i agree with above advice book a visit to the vet to make sure . i tried mia on lots of different food when i first got her i believe its not good to change a dogs food too often as can cause an upset stomach i also believe a dog can get too fussy and not eat dog food altogether which isnt always necessarily a bad thing.
