Suddenly Clingy Empty Suddenly Clingy

Post by Haizum74 Sat Apr 18 2015, 20:08

For the past hour or so, Nita has suddenly become clingy and afraid of just about everything, she jumped at the computer mouse when I was using it on the floor, she has been outside and acted as though it was the first time she had been out and got aggressive towards a cat (cat was 10 feet away) and is acting like a different pooch, hair on her back is up. My friend is round and she has been very clingy with her and my friend even pointed out that her cat was the same towards her (my friend). Currently she is very restless.
There hasn't been anything untowards that could have spooked her, she is eating and drinking fine, no changes to her diet, daily exercise. The only thing I can see different with her is she has a pinkish mark on her nose that wasn't there before. Even her looking out of the window is startling her.

Has anyone had any experience of this and found out what it was or is it just an off day for Nita.

Incidentally my friends cat is on heat so is it something she can smell on my friends clothes?

That is odd. It could be an off day or the cat smell. If she continues to be like this I would suggest a trip to the vet to be safe.

It could be the cat or it could be something physical and the pink mark's a sign of that. Keep an eye on her and if it continues, gets worse, or there is anything else unusual I'd take her to the vet.

I would do as Liz suggests, keep an eye on Nita and if she doesn't settle or shows anything untoward with the pink Mark pop her to the vet to be safe.

She is a bit better today, still clingy but not as jumpy. Thanks for the replies, I'll be keeping a close eye on her. The pink patch on her nose has gotten a little bigger but potentially could be a scratch.

Its possible but I don't recall it happening. This is the pic of her nose, that used to be black and its getting slightly bigger. Vets tomorrow. I'm probably worrying over nothing but....

Looks like an irritation more than a sting to me. Never hurts to get a professional opinion though Big Grin

That looks very sore and painful. No wonder shes clingy. Pixee once got stung in her ear, the pain she was in was awful. I cant really say if that looks like she has been stung. I would take her up the vets tomorrow as its getting bigger.

To me it doesn't look serious worrying stuff, but enough to take her to the vet if it's getting bigger. It could be a bite and/or an infection.

Been to the vets and she wasn't worried about the patch on her nose, she said it isn't inflamed and doesnt look like a bite or such like. She had her glands done which were full and also had her injections. So, Im glad its not serious. Thanks for the replies guys and gals.

That's a relief. Maybe the full glands were what was causing her clingyness. It can be really painful. Hopefully she'll be back to her normal self now.
