Re: Nails Are Getting Long
If he gets walked on different surfaces he shouldn't need them clipping. Length is not really an issue, unless they are not getting worn down like his dew claws.

Re: Nails Are Getting Long
He's not been getting his usual long walks because of how wet it's been in Scotland this winter.

So you don't recommend clipping his nails then?

Unless they are like his dew claws. I've never clipped a dogs nails, only the tips of the dew claw.

Walking your pooch on a pavement will sort them out. Ive never clipped his nails and he sorts his own dew claw out anyway.

Re: Nails Are Getting Long
As above i would also remove any sharp bits gently and a little with a nail file or emery board

Re: Nails Are Getting Long
i've never ever clipped my dog's nails - only did the very end of a really sharp dew claw once when it actually stabbed my hand.
