My dog is loosing fur rapidly and can't bark
Hello, I have 11 month bitch black Staffie who seems to be loosing her fur pretty quickly and is covered in bald patches because of it.
Does anyone else have this problem or may know what it is caused by and what treatment I can get for her?
Another problem is that she can't bark, she tries to but she physically can't, it comes out as more of a squeak kind of sounds like a chew toy and it also sounds like she's being tortured. Anyone got any information on this?
Thank you in advanced,
Hazel and Dolly x

Re: My dog is loosing fur rapidly and can't bark
Hi ya Hazel, the bark thing might come with age, as for the fur loss it's pretty hard to say without seeing it and then it might take a vet to diagnose.
I would get a vet to check her over as regards the fur so that they can rule out any skin issues... And whilst there mention the bark but I don't think that's such an issue.
When you get a min, pop along here and say hi:-

Ah okay thank you, I have an appointment made already for her but I just wanted to see if any one else's Staffie has or had the same problem with the fur loss. As I have had previous Staffies who didn't seem to have a rapid fur loss and bald patches.

It's a strange one, if she was a blue then it could be explained but this seems to be something different. Do let us know what the vet says as we might be able to offer advice from the diagnosis and of course we want to know how she gets on

Lots of staffies squeak more than bark your vet will tell more about the fur loss . Could be an allergy/ skin condition let us know how she gets on.
