3yr loosing weight
Hello,
This is my first ever post! I've read a few of the posts and found it amazing how much info you guys give.
So here goes!
I have a 3yr old staffy bitch she's always been rather short but very solid. We got a pup about 6 months since and they get on very well but he's double her size. She has started loosing weight n seems a little down, their out every day so I don't think it's a fitness issue. Does anyone have any suggestions on extra food or treats that may help please?
Thank you T.

Re: 3yr loosing weight
Hi & welcome to the forum!
Is she eating & drinking properly?
It could be that getting the pup has put her out a little, or it could be that having a pup is getting her more exercise!
However, if there's no obvious reason for weight loss I'd always go see a vet just to rule out any underlying illness.
P.S. We'd love to see some pics of your two!

Thanks for your reply,
She seems to be eating fine, I was thinking of maybe introducing some more meat to bulk a little. She seem to have got very old quickly an I don't know if it's because the pup is so hyper!! She's a very calm dog and fantastic with the kids she likes to cuddle a lot.
I just worry when they're not quite themselves?
Maybe a trip to the vets for an mot just to make sure.
I'd love to share some pictures but I'm pretty useless with computers!!

It's really easy! Open a photobucket.com account, upload the pics on to there from your computer (photobucket tell you how) then hover your mouse over the pic you want to put on here. You'll see a drop down menu - just copy the IMG code at the bottom & paste on the the post here!
If she seems to have aged as well as losing weight I'd see the vet because she may have some sort of imbalance that needs seeing to. Good luck!

Thanks I will have a go later with the pictures.
I think we'll have a trip to the vets tomorrow and hopefully not too much to worry about!

Re: 3yr loosing weight
hi there,
all is well thank god!
the vet says physically she is fine, and mentally just as nuts as the rest of us!! he thinks she might just need a bit of space on her own because the pup is constantly at her and he thinks its wearing her down. there away on a nice walk now so i think she can have the spot next to me on the sofa tonight.

Re: 3yr loosing weight
Brilliant news. I suppose you'll just have to work out a rota for her to have some quiet time without the pup for a while!
Really pleased that it's nothing serious, though!
