Walkies! Empty Walkies!

Post by Mich2608 Sun Feb 01 2015, 17:49

I took Roxy for her first little walk today, and she did really well. Very scared of passing cars, and she doesnt walk in a straight line, she goes this way, and then that way.. I had a hard job not tripping over her lol. But she did good, and then we got home, we both fell asleep watching Shawshank Redemption this afternoon under a blanket Smile bliss Big Grin

Aww brilliant Big Grin

I have to be honest, Flo normally walks really nicely but will sometimes catch me out by zig zagging. I'm sure Roxy will get used to the cars fairly quickly. It's all so new and exciting for her Big Grin

Sounds normal. I don't know how many times I've done the funky chicken dance trying to avoid standing on Theia! She was the same with cars but worse with motorbikes, but doesn't bat an eyelid now unless they're really loud. She still has a thing when trailers pass us bouncing about.

You are lucky I'm walking a pup now who is not very interested in walking! It's much harder to convince them to walk but were getting there.

Walkies! Empty Re: Walkies!

mia used to be terrifified of motorbikes shes only scared of the loud ones now and some loud cars once she sees its a car tho shes absolutely fine. i introduced mia gradually to the quiet bikes constant reassurance i used to stiffen upon hearing a motorbike and she sensed this and became more scared she growled snarled and tried to chase them when on her lead. i would say introduce as much as possible while theyre young as its much more difficult when they become an adult dog.
