Vaccine side effects Empty Vaccine side effects

Post by sw-d Sun Jan 11 2015, 22:33

Hi, my ten week old puppy had her second vaccination yesterday, including the up the nose kennel cough. As with her first she was very sleepy, lack of energy. Last night she was sick four times, up until now she has not been a sickie puppy. Today she has eaten and drank water as normal, this afternoon she became very clingy. I notice that she had become very hot / warm to touch and her breathing was shallow. I have taken her back to the vets this afternoon, temp was a little high but in an ok level. She was given a pain relief injection - this was explained as a "parcetamol" type relief. This evening her nose has become very sensitive, now swollen on one side of her snout. she yelps if you touch. But now otherwise ok in herself. Anybody else had a similar experience?

Hmm seems a little odd that one side is sensitive. Sorry but I have an older rescue and can't offer any experience. Hopefully she'll be fine in a day or so.

Welcome to the forum by the way Big Grin

They will change a bit as the Vaccination is basically giving them a dose of all the viruses (synthetic or not) to give the imune system a prod in the right direction to develope an imune respons

Update: Doing a lot better thanks, back to the vets a couple more times. Vets checked with the vaccine manufacture, no other cases the same. They have advised vet that they feel it is an allergic reaction to the live vaccine. Swelling is still noticeable on her snout, but no longer tender to touch. Back to playing with my older dog, just need to keep an eye on her. hopefully a few more days of meds and no further action. Fingers crossed.
