Jazz won't play fetch!!!

This is'nt realy a problem just frustrating! now jazz is fully vac'd up i love taking her for a run over the common but there is 1 slight problem...i throw her ball/toy and she won't give chase she just look's at me lol any ideas to encourage her to fetch and retrieve?

this has come up b4, there is a certain Dempsy on here and others that are like 'you threw it, you get it'!! Mine retrieves sticks and will drop them every time no problem. Balls she'll get them but won't give them back, and she's great with a frisbee! All dogs are different some will some won't x

make her want it even more, throwing treats/kong full of a treat.
As for the bringing it back thats another stories i can't get my girls to fetch it back either.

Im with you on the ball thing janey, i take 3 balls out with me and woody cos although he'll bring it back i have to throw another one to make him drop it, the 3rd is a reserve in case he destroys one!.

to start with though woody wouldnt fetch so rather than doing it when out i practiced with him in the garden just throwing it a little way and re-iterating the command over and over until he brought it back, at which point he would get a treat

I cant really help with this really kaiser always played fetch he loves his ball although when he was younger he wouldnt drop it and would clamp it in his jaws making us struggle getting it out of his mouth now he loves it drops it everytime some dogs dont like fetch but kaiser loves it

cheers for the reply's guy's,we had a breakthrough earlier on her walk, i got a big stick and played her up with it for a while to make her want it even more. Then i threw it, she chased after it picked it up and BROUGHT it back.....WHAT A RESULT!!!!!

Just remember not to mention the word S*T*I*C*K when you don't want them to play

I threw Benson his ball when I first had him, he chased it like a Race horse..................................Then tore it to shreds by the time I got there..

will will fetch for a couple of times then he has had enough and it is me who fetches
