coat
Me and my one year old staffy Duka love walking the moors, and often get wet through.
The thing is his coat does not seem at all water repellent,is this the case with staffy,s.
Has he got his adult coat at 12 months or will it grow thicker,I know I sound a bit dim
but its my first staffy and his coat stays wet for hours unless you dry him off

Re: coat
Hi ya, welcome to the Forum
With my Flo if we give her a bath she will stay damp to the touch for quiet some time. When out walking rain generally runs off her back etc, however, her underneath is quiet bald so simply requires a brisk rub down with a towel.
Most of Flo's coat is quiet dense so does naturally repel water and it is the thickness that repels the water as fur is not naturally water repellent just rather relying on layers to keep the water away from the skin and to keep warm as far as I am aware.
When you get a min pop along here and say Hi :-

Re: coat
They have quite thin coats so it may be an idea to give him a bit of a rub down when you get in. Bane will stay damp for ages too after a bath if we don't dry him properly.

Re: coat
Id suggest as above perhaps getting the dog a waterproof coat will help.
