Coat help
Tilly is really coming on and is now over 1 years old. No longer food agressive and is generally calming down
Our newest little problem is her coat. Firstly how should a staffs coat feel?
She's gets a weekly brush but if stroked for a while we get a almost, white greasy film left on our hands which I don't think it's right, ok if you don't stroke so hard it's no way near as bad
She has dandruff on her back above her tail, she doesn't scratch at it and just wondered if there's anything we can do for it, not bothered by it just we have noticed it.
Last bathe around 2 months ago but heard they don't need that many baths.
How often should the molt, she does it all the time, all I can think of is German shepherd dad as her hair is around 3/4minch long compared to other staffs I know.
All I can think of is a cod liver oil type supplement with her diet. She is fed Pets at home Advanced nutrition and has wainwrights treats
Thanks all

Re: Coat help
Salmon oil is good for their coat, quite a few people on here add it to kibble. Also you could mix some tinned sardines (in oil or tomato) with her food sometimes

Re: Coat help
A Staffies coat would be short, smooth and soft, to aid the condition of your dogs coat try feeding some fish in natural oil or olive oil 2 -3 times per week. Avoid washing your dog too often as this will strip the coat of it's naturals oils and will reduce the condition of the coat.

Re: Coat help
If her coat's that long then she almost certainly has her dad's coat! GSDs have a double coat & the thick undercoat can get quite oily & can leave a film of grease on your hands.
Salmon oil is a good addition to her food, with maybe a couple of sardines added occasionally or a raw egg.
