rash on neck
Hi, I'm wondering if someone can help. I have a 7 month old blue staff. About two months ago..she developed a rash on her neck and chest area, she scratches this sometimes and makes it red raw. She also has now and again some spots, almost boil like on her back, but these clear up and go...but the rash remains. So far we have tried sudocreme, savlon, antibiotics, hibiscrub, piriton and none of this helped. We even changed her leather collar to material incase this was causing it...but no change. She is fed dry food biscuits and has always been fed this... It's a sensitive food with no wheat. I'm at a loss. We have today tried bepanthem (nappy rash creme) to see if this helps. Can anyone help?? I've heard it's common for blue staffs to have skin conditions?? She is also bald where the rash is.

Re: rash on neck
Thanks for your advice, vet is more than willing to do skin scrapes, but I have already spent £100's at the vets and just wondered if it may be something simple before I spent even more. :-(. Thanks again. Here is a pic of the rash anyway

Re: rash on neck
If two blues are breed from this can cause some serious skin conditions for the puppys later on in life. I would advize getting a diagnosis from the vet at least then you will know what you are dealing with and how to treat it, good luck.

Re: rash on neck
Hi, Max had a similar issue that we finally got on top of about two months back
He lost a clump of fur between his shoulder blades just below his collar completely outa the blue .. like it had been plucked out .. we watched it like hawks for a couple of days and that grew back pretty quickly thank god, but in the same area he then developed like a itchy rash covering a much bigger area
We tried allsorts like yourself, but his coat was thinning at an alarming rate ... our first thoughts were possibly fox mange as we exercise him on land where there is often a lot of fox's. Got to the point where we said we'll try one more thing (a shampoo that my wife found and researched on line) and if that doesn't look like its improving it, then its off to the vets.
Well, luckily, it did work! .. and completely cleared everything up, restoring his coat back to its former glory .. the name of this product ? I hear you ask .... errr ... I cant remember , but my wife will so I'll ask her later and post the name on this thread ... I can remember it was a bit funky tho when it was on him

Re: rash on neck
Thank you so much! We will try this. Do you have to dilute it? And you just use it when bathing? No applications in between? Thanks again

No worries ... let us know if it helps
I think we noticed a significant improvement after we were around half way through the bottle
