How much staffie in this dog?
So, lovely staffie experts, could you have a look at this dog and tell me how much staffie you think might be in there?

I know what I think she is but it's not matching what her former owner said she is. I'll tell you why I'm asking later

Re: How much staffie in this dog?
I'm going to disagree she looks like either a ridgeback cross staff or a Hungarian viszla cross staff

Re: How much staffie in this dog?
My feeling is choccy lab x weimaramer or pointer, and I'm stumped that her previous owner said she was a lab x staffie. Those ears belong to neither of them.
And thank you to those who think she's pretty - we had a successful dog meet with both Chaos and Nola today, and my husband is meeting her over the weekend. If he approves, we'll be taking her on a month's foster to make sure she fits in, in other words that she calms down! She's been there for nearly a year (she's a case dog), and is rather wired at the moment!
It was hard not choosing another staffie but after the still very recent experience of 'when it goes wrong', we thought we couldn't face it again. There will always be a staffie in our pack, but just the one.

Re: How much staffie in this dog?
german shorthaird pointer x lab would be my guess due to the ears and face but as a cross can look like anything a guess is a best effort. have only had two people correctly guess my two in three years

Re: How much staffie in this dog?
I would say not much if any Staffy in this dog, looks more like a Vizzla cross of some kind to me.

Dammit, but that's it!!!! A pit bull, you've hit the nail on the head.
Viszla... yes, strong contender.
I took Coco for a walk yesterday - she was SO good on the Mekuti - and had another look. The only thing about her that's not really lab or gundog is the dip between the eyes - maybe that's the staffie bit.
One of the staff had mentioned that she had a problem with some dogs, so it was interesting to see at first hand how she reacted. The other dog was Red, a boxer x, and all I really saw from Coco was a reaction to Red's stare and then barking. Coco first of all lowered herself but just lying down rather than collie crouch, and then started jumping up and down barking, while going backwards to tuck in behind me. As soon as Red had passed she stopped and relaxed, not even a backwards glance. Not exactly the signs of an aggressive dog. When I took her back to her kennel, Shadow and some of the others were having a barking contest. Coco was flipping her head round, listening and very worried, but didn't even growl.
George is coming to meet her today, and then we're doing an off lead test with Chaos and Nola tomorrow. Fingers crossed!
