Busy day tomorrow...........
Tomorrow morning, Dempsey gets a bath.
Sounds quite simple, doesn't it?
Huh! Anything but! I can't lift him as he now weighs over 5 stone (32 kilos) so my son will have to put him in the bath. Then, I can't use a shower as he attacks the shower head, so I'll need loads of jugs of warm water. Once I've finished, and I'm wetter than he is, my son will have to lift him out of the bath before he tries to jump out as the bathroom's quite small & he'll either land on me (don't like the sound of that!) or slip & hurt himself.
Then we have the chase-me-all-over-the-house-to-get-me-dry-cause-I'll-be-buggered-if-you're-going-to-catch-me routine. Me running around with a large dog towel after an extremely large & wet drowned rat.
Then after that, I've got an opticians appointment to get new glasses & see if my prescription is ok for contact lenses. I am longsighted, so I've needed reading glasses for about 6 or 7 years, but I now also need glasses for things like watching tv & computer work. I've got 2 different pairs at the moment & it's a pain constantly trying to remember which ones I need! I'm hoping that contacts will be the answer.

Wow that's quite a big boy you have. Wish you the best of luck. Suki doesn't mind the bath part of the ritual but she wants to play tug of war with the towel instead of getting dry.

SO very true. I try to ease the situation by exercising before hand so she will be calm but she starts right back up again.

Re: Busy day tomorrow...........
Well, sorry folks, no pics! I had my hands full just trying to get him in the bath & keeping him there!
My wimp of a son (18 years old & quite broad!) couldn't lift him (Huh!) so we cornered him in the bathroom & I had to heave his front end up to the edge of the bath, and then sort of tip the back end up & over!
He just stood there with his nose nearly touching the bottom of the bath & his tail between his legs. Took about 15 minutes of filling & re-filling jugs of warm water (can't use a shower head cause he attacks it!), then I had to heave him out of the bath............got absolutely soaked!
Then I had to dry him off while also trying to stop him disappearing down the stairs. Can't use a hairdryer cause he's eat it.
After that there was a mad rush to get changed (should have worn my swim suit) and get the bus into town for my opticians appointment.
I'm now the proud owner of my first pair of contact lenses!

Re: Busy day tomorrow...........
My contacts are awkward as my sight up until about 10 years ago was virtually perfect. But age has taken its toll & now I have trouble with both long & short distance focussing. So at the moment I have one lense set up for distance & one for reading. I'm told that my brain will 'learn' to use one or the other depending on what I'm trying to focus on, but at the moment it's a bit odd. If I can't adapt to that, they'll replace the short focus one with a distance one, and I'll have to have a pair of reading glasses for close work.

Re: Busy day tomorrow...........
i tried that, but because my work involves lots of close up i could not see all that well for reading, so i changed them just so i can read in them
its brill, just dont forget to take them out a night, I have gone to sleep in them loads of times when I have had a glass of wine or 2, and in the morning my eyes are so sore

Re: Busy day tomorrow...........
Although I've never had them before, my oh has worn them for years & my daughter wears them now, so I'm pretty well up with the are/do's & dont's etc. I tend to be on the computer last thing at night, so I'll probably just have my reading glasses on then!

Re: Busy day tomorrow...........
I used to have coloured contacts when I went out to make my eyes brown etc, the amount of times being I was drunk and forgot to take them out, and then would wake up in the morning an not be able to open my eyes! Hope they work out for you!
