Hi guys just wondering if anyone has any advice on how to get Harley to fetch balls when out on a walk?
We take him to our local park and when hes off the lead he doesn't venture far he likes staying close. We have tried using a ball and treating him and we tried one of his squeaky toys but he isn't interested :/
And its very hard for him to get the run around he needs because he wont go anywhere and he is still hyper when he comes home. We have tried practicing in the house and he gets it but as soon as hes out hes not bothered.
any tips would be great thanks x

tessa is the same stays close to me and seems to prefer a sniff and a mooch about than running around but our walks can be 2/3 hours or all day if we are at our place in cornwall.
just walking is fine if you have the time to put the miles down.

I have a similar issue Beth in that my Flo will sometimes chase a ball but then destroy it !

We use an artificial stick which she adores. I Think you'll just have to experiment to find the right toy that's great to chase Smile

Ledger also quickly killed a kong stick. In regards to fetch he never really used to understand the concept and still won't drop a ball unless I have another. I took him to flyball classes and that worked to teach him how to fetch, now that's all he wants to do on a walk
