Playing? Enough?
Charlie has taken to Star far better than we envisioned. He's been very patient with her and allows her, most of the time, to play and climb all over him. He does however seem to push her to play when she appears not interested. She backs away, but if he keeps on she barks and snarls at him in a way to say that's enough. He still continues. I have been telling Charlie No! Enough!
Am I going the right way about it? Should I be giving Star a command too?
He does sometimes get a bit too rough with her, which we tell him gentle. Its usually enough to get his attention and then they go back to playing again.

Re: Playing? Enough?
If you feel she needs some quiet time or if the play gets too rough, by all means step in. I wouldn't say anything to Star cause she hasn't done anything, just tell Charlie enough or gentle.

Re: Playing? Enough?
Star is so lucky to have an uncle to play with. I'm sure the cuddles he gives her will make up for the rough play.

That's great they are getting on well. I would keep doing what you're doing, keeping an eye on it and stepping in when it seems to be getting too rough. I agree with Caryll that you don't need to say anything to Star

I'd just continue what you're doing. Star's still young and needs more rest than Charlie, and Charlie probably just wants to keep playing, so just step in when you think she's had enough and wants to relax. Course, Star sounds like she can handle herself

Haha Charlie always wants to play! He can go for hours regardless of how much time he's had out running like a loonANattyRat wrote:I'd just continue what you're doing. Star is certainly going to be the boss, she doesn't let Charlie get away with anything, and he was supposed to be teaching her!
Thanks all, its nice to have confirmation that im going in the right direction
