lump on the back of his neck
Yesterday I found quite a large lump on the back of Gordons neck, it doesn't seem to be hurting him and it seems to move around a little when you touch it. I called in the vets to make an apt (earliest is tomorrow). The vets nurse said it may have something to do with his pre med which he had 3 weeks ago when he had his bits off. Has anybody else's dog experienced this?? because it's worrying the hell out of me

Re: lump on the back of his neck
Haven't heard of this before but I guess she could be right in that some fluid has collected where he might have had a jab at the vets. If it's movable it's probably either fluid or fat so try not to worry.

Re: lump on the back of his neck
yup, went to the vets with marley, spent an ungodly ammount on a cream which did bugger all and then a week later it scabbed...a week after that i picked it off and the lump went down in two days. if its just in a jab area could be nothing more than a slight reaction, another reason i only get mine vacced every three years...which is the manufacturers recomendation unlike the vets....

Re: lump on the back of his neck
If the lump moves freely and is where the jab was put in then I would think it's just fluid and will go away. The Vet will set your mind at rest anyways but do let us know what the Vet says.

Re: lump on the back of his neck
Hi thanks for the replies, the vet thinks it might have something to do with where they injected him with pre med, i'm going to pick up some tablets tomorrow and pop back in 5 days to see if it's gone down, ( hopefully it will ), if not she will take some fluid from it for testing, but she doesn't think it's attached to the muscle which apparently is a good thing.
