Be Aware not Beware signs.

I've only had a quick search so don't take this as the law, but I heard a while ago that if you have a sign saying BEWARE of the dog and he attacks the goon who breaks into your property, you could be liable for prosecution. Apparently it could be taken that you are admitting you have a dangerous dog.
However a BE AWARE sign seems to be ok. Also signs like, close the gate dogs running free, seem fine.
I would avoid signs like, I can reach the gate in 3 seconds, can you?, guard dogs, and such like.
For us being lucky enough to have fallen for this breed we know the stigma and BSL stupidity hanging around, it's worth considering.

Certainly have to consider the wording of signs, yes.

the sign on my gate says "never mind the dog beware of the owner".

A friend of mine has a sign saying " Don't worry about the Staffy but beware of the AFC Wimbledon supporter"

i would never have a sign up saying i had a dog,no point sash would let them in, lick them and let them burglar the house

No signs here either though I had heard the same about "Beware of the dog" Pete.

My neighbour has a beware of the cat sign

No signs either but the only way into the garden it through the house. I think the noise they make when someone comes to the door is enough warning lol

So many people have them around here and they are all staffy signs! One house got burgled not long ago and they now have a "Go on make my day" with a staffy pic on in the window!
