Biting and grabbing Empty Biting and grabbing

Post by Aidanh1973 Fri Oct 24 2014, 12:13

Hi all,

Baxter is coming up for six months old now and his puppy biting is not getting any better, he also has a habbit of grabbing onto clothing which has resulted in clothing getting ripped on more than one occasion. I have tried all the usual suggestions but to no avail, does anyone have a method which has worked for them, also when does this stop ? ive been told they do grow out of it Big Grin

Thanks

What worked for me when you know the puppy will bite a loud and commanding no works. Alternatively here are some tips.

Redirection! Usually onto a toy. Failing that, withdrawing interaction - quiet time in the crate.

All of the above at that order: loud and firm No + redirection to a chew or toy and if that doesn't work few minutes alone in another room but not in the crate if you use one . And lots of patience.

A quick sharp (aah) yelp back worked with all 6 of mine!
