Welcome Cottages - Lake District Empty Welcome Cottages - Lake District

We would recommend the link below for anyone thinking of staying in the Lake District. Dog friendly cabin with enlosed garden, although the garden was a little on the small side but didn't really matter as a great base for many local walks.

It is set down a narrow country lane with some steep hills 4x4 would be very handy here.

The site is about 5 miles from Ambleside which is a mecca for hill walkers as it has so many great shops for walking gear. Sadly I didn't get to go in any of them as I had Rocky with me.

It's not too far from where I live but I've not heard of it so that's a useful link. How big is the enclosed area, BTW? And are the roads really bad or could you drive a car along them safely?

The garden was about 4 metres x 3 metres roughly, it wasn't exactly square shaped though. Some of the roads were hard going for our little car (a Fiat 500). The cabin was down a quiet lane sign posted Neaum Crag.

Right, thanks. Maybe if we go we'll hire a van or something.
