Lola in the Lake District (**pic heavy**)
so after an uneventful drive up on friday night (Lola, as usual, terrible in the car) we got to the cottage in good time, my mum and dad, sister and bro-in-law are staying all week, but as there was an extra bed i got invited for the weekend (cant get any more time off work )
Saturday, we visited Ullswater, and started with a walk around Aira Force, a gorgeous waterfall, with plenty of quiet areas to let Lola off lead to do some exploring.
(my favorite)
after the walk, we stopped for dinner in a pub at the north end of the lake (loads of dog friendly pubs around there) and Lola had a rest
and after a spot of lunch we took a boat ride. cant really say Lola enjoyed it, she stayed glued to the bottom of the boat,
then we headed home, where Lola fell asleep on pretty much everything, eventually settling on my Bro-In-Law. its a real shame the family arnt keen on Lola...
Sunday we took a drive to Keswick, had a wander through the town and down to the shore of Derwent Lake
had her chasing sticks into the shallows, she doesnt like water so went chest deep once, but the best moment was her cahsing a stick in, and bringing a 1 kg rock out...
"THIS IS MY STICK..."
after leaving the lake, theres a huge grassy hill, so while mum and sis went shopping, us lads took Lola for a good stroll
we then headed for a stone circle a mile or so out of the town, and my mum (not a dog person at all) offered to hole Lola while i took some snaps. i turned to get a pic of my mum and Lola, and ever the classy bird, i got this...
but this made up for it
and one last one
all in all, a nice weekend, nothing worse than a few sideways glances, but loads and loads or praise, "ive got one, she's gorgeous etc" and making lots of friends overshadowed all the looks.
theres a couple of vids i'll post in the proper area as well, from playing chase on the hill.

It's so nice to see them free and exploring, and just doing their thing. What a fabulous place for you all to enjoy. Wonderful pics, she's a cutie.

Hubby and me went to the lake district a few years ago, I love the area. We went to Ullswater too and went to The Inn on the Lake, a very posh hotel and took some pictures of the lake at the rear or the front of the hotel. We also went to Aira Force, also got some photo's there.
