Puppy showing teeth
Hi guys looking for a bit of advice, my pup is now 5 months old she has always been a handful since the day we brought her home but she is a much loved family pet, I have owned staffies before but never encountered anything like this before.
The thing is she seems to get herself quite wound up when she is with me, she starts off constant barking at me then it leads to lips pulled up and showing all of her teeth, I'm not sure if this is normal behaviour , if I tell her no this just makes her worse, if I put her into the kitchen for a few minutes and let her back out again she just bounces back through the house like a tornado and it begins again, the thing is she is in no way like this towards my partner, she is a different dog when he is around but he works nights so I seem to get this each and every night from her.
I have two young children so I want to curb this behaviour before it becomes a real problem, I suppose I just need to hear that it is perfectly normal and that it is something that she will grow out of,
Thanks for any help!

Re: Puppy showing teeth
I think she is trying to push boundries, a high pitched squeal worked for us, how much exercise does she get a day, when you have a mo come and say hi here

agree with inez, she is pushing the boundries, keep telling her no and if needs be time out in another room for a few minutes,be consistant with her and she will get there,at this age they do zoom around the house like a mad thing

Re: Puppy showing teeth
Some pups are worse than other and take longer to grasp the not biting but it's not uncommon at all. At what age was she removed from the litter/her mum?

Re: Puppy showing teeth
Be firm and consistent. Ensure that everyone says no in the same way too, that'll reinforce the message

Re: Puppy showing teeth
We have had her since she was 8 1/2 weeks as I say she has always been a handful since day one lol, so you think that she is just trying it on with me? I was beginning to think she didn't like me lol but there's another side to her when she is relaxed, she follows me everywhere to the point where she waits outside the bathroom door when in in the shower

Re: Puppy showing teeth
She is trying it on without a doubt, i think they do throughout their lives every now and then lol. The waiting for you outside the bathroom is quiet normal too, my Flo does it all the time and will, on some days, follow me around the house like a shadow
