Pru is sick

Today I got up and went to take Pru out of her crate as normal but she had been sick everywhere and also had diarrhea which she somehow managed to aim out of the crate and across the floor. It was a biiiig mess. Pru was just sitting there in the middle of it all looking rather sorry for herself. I got her out and rubbed her with a towel but she seems very poorly, she was hardly excited to see me at all (she normally goes mad) and shes very sleepy and lethargic. She has been drinking water but then throwing it up shortly afterwards. She's so good, shes even been asking to go outside before puking. Breaks my heart to see her like this, I can't think that shes eaten anything that she shouldn't have, apart from maybe a carrot yesterday but she often has those.

I'm thinking give it 24 hours make sure she drinks plenty and see how she goes? Any ideas?

I would pop her to the vet to be safe, particularly if she's not keeping much water down. Do keep us posted.

Yeah I would at least call the vet to see if they think she needs to come in today, if shes bringimng up the water she'll get dehydrated very quickly, poor love xxx

Poor little Pru, do see the vet, at this age they can go downhill very fast, she may need a fluid drip.

Hey guys, so I phoned the vet this morning and he told me to perhaps just monitor for today, see how she goes. He said he would happily come out and see her if I was worried. I took the day off and let her lay on the sofa all day with the back door open so she could pop out whenever.

I think its safe to say she's improving, shes holding down water again and even had a little bit of dry chicken. Going to keep watching her and making sure she drinks plenty.

Thats great news - like us hey can pick up bugs and feel rough for a day or 2, its easy to panic and I am glad your vets suggested monitoring first, so many won't, I hope it continues to improve Xx

Ah great news. They do worry us when they are off colour.

Glad she's back to her usual self  It's horrible coming down in the morning to find they have been poorly all night!
