Probably being stupid
I'm probably doing something very obvious, but none of my posts are working properly, no matter what I do I can't post pictures (the coding is always right), and I can't do quotes or anything. It always shows up in code form. But when I'm trying to post it it all looks okay in the preview?!

then added the code into the img code here are below
- Code:
[img] <--url link-->[/img]
Re: Probably being stupid
You dont actually need photobucket or FB. Or I never use them anyway. If you want to post an image, all you need to do is click the 'Host an image' icon that is ringed below. You can then select the image you want to use from the hard drive or whatever of your computer, take some code which is presented to you, and then paste it into your message - with a very small amount of editing.
When you click on this icon, a window pops up that looks like this:
Click the 'choose file' button and navigate to wherever it is on your computer that you have the image stored. When you have found the image, click 'Host it'. A new window appears with three lines of code: one for thumbnail, one for image, and one for image url. The window will look like this:
You need to copy to clipboard (control c) all the gibberish that's in the third line. Disregard the other two. When you have the code in the clipboard, paste it down (control v) into your 'post a reply' box - where you are writing your main message. The code you need is as shown in blue above.
The final thing you need to do is to wrap some image tags around your code. So this at the start: {img} and this at the end {/img}. Please note that you need SQUARE brackets, not curly brackets in your code - I only use curly brackets in this example because the square ones are special characters and will not display properly in ordinary text.
So finally, your code for posting an image will look like this example:
{img}https://i.servimg.com/u/f39/18/33/01/59/temp10.png{/img}
Remember to replace the curly brackets with square ones. So this is a very simple way of posting images without having to create accounts with Facebook or Photobucket.

Re: Probably being stupid
That's what I'm doing, as I say the codes are fine and they are working in preview, but it changes back to code when I post. It's not just pictures either, it's everything, like quoting from another post on topics.

HOPING that worked, figured out what I was doing wrong haha!
I'm still not sure why the quote isn't working, as all I'm doing is pressing the quote button...
[quote="Steve"]post your photos here let me see what you doing wrong [/quote]
