Re: FEEDING
Jesus that does sound a lot for a 6 month old. If I where you I would change the food to something of better quality, as when feeding things like Butchers because the nutritian value is so low thats why they need so much. A better quality food I think would suit your pup far better. There are plenty of recomendations on here.
Heres a link for some dry food recommendations x

Re: FEEDING
That's waaay too much for a 6 month old pup. As Janey said, it's because foods like Butchers have very little nutrition so they need to eat lots of it to get what they would get from one handful or tin of good quality food.
If you're on a tight budget, there are still some good quality foods in the link that Janey posted that are not as expensive as some of the others. If you can, order online as it is nearly always alot cheaper

Re: FEEDING
I'd get him off tinned food if possible as it isn't good for his teeth. You also need to feed a lot more than with dry or raw feeding.
Four tins is a lot and although tinned food seems cheaper than dry, you need to give far less dry food than tinned, so it can work out cheaper. Also, it won't distend the stomach as much as tinned, so there is less chance of bloat.

Re: FEEDING
Hi all, WOW! that seems like a heap of food for a 6 month old. Don't you worry about what they put into the tin food or should I say what they dont put into it? I only feed Stanley human grade meat with some vegies and biscuits. But I even have trouble trying to find a good biscuit with not many preservitives in it, any body got any thoughts on a good qualitity dry dog food availabe in Australia????

When you say 'biscuit' do you mean dry complete food or a biscuit like these?....

If it's these, then your dog doesn't actually need them, other than to give them something to crunch!

Oops, sorry about that I mean the dry complete food. What you would normally give your dog for his dinner not a treat. I should have been a bit more clear on that. Thanks for clearing it up for me Caryll
