ID Tags

Help/advice please .... what would you recommend to put on your dogs id tag? There are so many different suggestions and I just want to get things right.

Thanks Ian. I'd found this but just wanted to see what fellow 'staffy' owners used. We (staff and I) travel to Europe at least once a year as we like a bit of sun and warmth. I've been using a barrel name tag and just wondered if I was putting too much/not enough info in it.

Daisy's has my surname, mobile and address and my mums landline x

We have our house number and postcode on one side, his name and a mobile number on the other...didn't think to put our name on it

  cool ... We have our surname, address and contact number. Not sure what you would need abroad though, sorry.

To cover all bases was thinking along the lines of Sazzle & Daisy   - using Surname, House no, Postcode, mobile and land line numbers for England and Spain.

By law, your surname postcode and phone number. I have my number and surname and chipped tag.

I have 2 mobile numbers and I am chipped

yup, thats the law. i have pretty much the same except both have "I AM CHIPPED" on the reverse of the tag.
see so many dogs without tags though its insane, havent lost the dogs for longer than a few hours so far but did loose marleys collar once and someone found it, called me and told me where they had hidden it. so for the sake of 2 quid i saved 6 on a new collar. I also found a husky in the woods a few weeks back and called the mobile on the tags and a very greatfull owner turned up to pick her up. sweetheart of a dog and let me clip laskas lead on her

2 mobile numbers & his name. I love the line bout being chipped!!

My Flo is also chipped but has a separate tag saying that.

Lula tag has her name and my phone number and it also says she micro chipped

We have our address, Suki's name, and our phone number in Japanese and English

Don't put your dogs name on.

I know you shouldn't but dog napping isn't an issue here. If people find money on the ground they bring it to the police station more often than not.

Our trainer reckons the info on a tag should be designed to get your dog dog back to you asap. Phone number and address. We don't have her name on.

We had a Tag for loki at he lost it!! So I'm getting a double sided one tomorrow.

Rocky has his original dog tags which have:

Our home phone number plus both mobile numbers of hubby and me
Microchipped please scan me

and on the other:

Pet 24 tag number and their phone number

I would never put his name on his ID tags

Iza has' I'm chipped my surname, mobile number and postcode.

We have our home number on her tag. We're going to change it for our mobile numbers as if she's lost we'll more than likely be out looking.

Pets at home has their own dog tag maker excellent idea it also has an instore vet which does mkcrochipping.

Pets at home is only one side ingrained tho, loki is being microchipped tomorrow as we are going away. He's gonna hate me

Thanks all. It seems 'staffy' owners think along the same lines. I am torn about putting dogs name on - yeh good if they are lost and found by kind hearted people, bad if stolen. Think I'll probably go without.

Hi Lynn & Pete - LOL thought that was an opinion till I'd read it a second time   

 

I ordered mine from The Kennel Club, one for each collar, to save having to transfer them. Wee bit more expensive than some shops but really good quality. I put .....Dog's name, House Number with postcode, telephone number, and "chipped".
