9week old puppy growling
Hi I was wondering if someone could help me. We have had Riot for 4 days now. Iv never had a staffy before only gsd. The thing Im worried about is he growls at us for various things. How can I get him out of it? Its worrying Me that a 9 week old puppy is doing this and could it be a bad sign he will be a naughty staff? Any help is welcome. Really want him to snap out of this as I have 2 children .

No it's not a sign for anything he's probably adjusting and maybe feeling unsecure . Just give him time. On what occasions does he growl?
You can say no If he growls but I won't make a big issue as its early days please send some pictures if you can and warm welcome on the new addition!

At that age it won't be aggression. Stick with the firm NO and make sure everyone follows the same rules with him so he gets the message.

Hi there, it's definitely not aggression at that age, let him know when his behaviour is not acceptable and he will learn

yes agree, definitely not aggression, pups have very little manners until they are trained what is acceptable and what is not, when is he growling?staffies make a lot of strange noises when they are playing and if you did'nt know it you would think the noise is aggresive!

Re: 9week old puppy growling
Hi thank you answering me. He growls if move him by his collar from jumping up or moving him from something i dont want him into, or sometimes when he is picked up. How do I add pics? I'm new to all this. Iv read online to put him on his back until he summits to show him whos boss, is that the right thing to do or could that make him worse? Thank you as gain stacey

no please dont put him on his back,it's really not a nice thing to do and can lead to problems as they grow up,read this link from the forum http://staffy-bull-terrier.com/dos_and_donts_of_dog_training.he is only a baby and still settling in with you they can drive you mad at that age but with proper traing he'll soon learn,

Agree with placing him on his back is a very bad idea. Also if you are not able to supervise him I would take the collar off indoors as it could get caught on something
