not sure what diet for tessa
Hi all, my staffy is nearly 9 weeks old, im feeding her eukanuba hard food a spoonfull of butchers jelly wet food, is this a good diet? should i only give her the hard food? or is it ok to mix the both? and is butchers a good quality food or should a change the wet food to something better?
was thinking of changing her hard from to wainwrights or jwb

Re: not sure what diet for tessa
I would imagine that the dry biscuits are better for her teeth, but it is fine to feed both together.
I am not sure how good the food is that you have her on now but I have heard good things about JWB and Wainwrights from other members on here
The list of foods we recommend is here:

A good quality dry complete is fine on it's own, wet food is generally mostly water but adding a little to the dry can help fussy eaters

I add a small bit of wet but that was purely because she became fussy

My girl has dry for breakfast and a mix of wet and dry for dinner. I can vouch for Wainwright's, Flo loves it.

Iza gets dry during the week and something really nice like sardines in oil on Saturday, i get her treats that benefit her health as well.

I personally would avoid eukanuba. Definitely check out the recommended dry food list - http://staffy-bull-terrier.com/dry_food
I've used Canidae Pure Lands and Taste of The Wild grain free dry food with great success but now only feed raw. On the rare occasion we run out or travelling, we also feed K9 Naturals (freeze dried complete raw) or ZiwiPeaks (dehydrates complete raw).

Rocky would recommend the Barking Heads from the list of recommended foods. Have never fed wet food so cannot comment on this. Kibble is better for a dogs teeth.

Butchers isn't the best wet food but it's not completely hideous. JWB do a wet food pouch. It won't hurt her to mix wet into dry i don't feed dry but lots of people rave about wainwrights! They also do trays of wet food! I feed a mix of nature diet trays, tripe and some raw with the odd marrow bone or trotter thrown in.
