Meet Spud the 12 week old Staffordshire Bull Terrier – he’s a real live wire! He is a real cutie though. Spud makes a soft grunting noise when cuddled which is cute. He is a great puppy with everything going for him. He is just gorgeous and whoever has him will have to be fit however will get a lot back from him. He does love to sleep with the other dogs when he is eventually tired!!!
Spud is an exuberant puppy. He is full of life, into everything and happy to try anything. He seems to think he can walk on water over the pond and would rather not fall in - however he does and although we don’t think he likes it he forgets easily and does it again! He sits at your feet when he is ready for a cuddle which is quite often. He also rushes around and does everything he can and then crashes out and he is difficult to wake. When he is woken up for a night time pee break he just sits in the garden all spaced out and then takes himself back to bed.
Spud has no problems at home and no problems with life at all. It is just a party for him!
Spud is not all aggressive, he is house-trained and travels well. He couldn’t care a less about being at the vets - he loves people, dogs and everyone so the vets is no trouble. He has some treats whilst having his vaccination and didn’t even notice that he was having it! He is not dominant with his toys - he is too busy moving onto the next toy to worry too much about the one he has. Spud is extremely greedy. His foster mum’s Dalmatian eats fast but nothing compared to Spud. When you open the cupboard with his food in he launches himself into the cupboard and he has no worries about sticking his head into the other dog’s bowls. He is used to being in a crate and can be left there for a short period.
He needs all the training a usual puppy needs however he is toilet trained and will sit for food for a short time. He sleeps all night. He walks on a lead but in a very haphazard way. He is not yet allowed out so we have done no lead training. Spud loves all other dogs. He is extremely confident though and can be a little pushy but will take being told off by the other dogs and sometimes he listens but in typical Staffie style he keeps coming back for more. He has not been tested with cats.
Spud is into everything! He does try to get under the fencing – so the garden will need to be secure. He is not destructive. His foster mum has a massive toy box however he would rather have a twig or a leaf or even slippers. He does not seem to destroy anything - just plays with them.
Spud has no problems where he is touched. His foster mum practices playing with his ears and toes - he loves being touched and cuddled. He loves everyone – adults and children. Spud is a typical nipping puppy, however, being a Staffie, he does have a strong nip so although he loves being stroked by children and held they do need to be aware that he is nippy. He was taken to a show and he was more than happy to be passed around everyone and was really good but he has little sharp teeth.
Spud needs a home where they are used to his breed as he is a little nippy for a puppy. He needs an active house possibly with another dog. He does need exercise and lots and lots of toys to play with. He is a super puppy and will make a family very happy. I would say no young children due to his nippy behaviour.
Spud is up to date with his flea and worming treatment, micro-chipped and vaccinated He will need to be neutered at 6 months, which will the responsibility of the adopter (discount voucher will be provided). Prospective adopters will be expected to travel to meet him in his foster home in Bracknell, Berkshire

Spud is staying in his foster home. The longer he waited the more his foster mum realised she couldn't part with him so she has adopted him!
