Herbert, Staffie, DOB 07 – Reading, - Berkshire
Homing Requirements: Herbert's family could be first time dog owners or Staffie owners providing they are prepared to make Herbert the centre of their universe. Herbert has a slight head tilt which has improved with intense ear treatment but may be residual. Herbert’s skin generally may need low intensity veterinary oversight as an ongoing commitment.
His Story: Herbert was found cheerfully pottering around stray and then found himself in the pound and unclaimed. Two Rescue Remedies supporters were involved and he was drawn to our attention and even the dog warden concerned is an RR supporter so Herbert was destined for us! Herbert has had 2 different types of ear treatment including cleaning out under a general anaesthetic whilst he was neutered. He is now fully vaccinated and chipped. Herbert is enjoying an Easter foster placement in Reading, Berkshire over the break.
Advert: Herbert is a right proper 'Herbert' whatever that means. He has Staffie charm by the bucket load and is very affectionate but not demonstrative with it. Herbert will mix in well with children as there is no snappiness with him but of course parents must ensure dogs are treated with respect at all times. Herbert wants to meet everyone out on his walk and should be restrained on an extender lead for this reason as some members of the public are dog shy and perhaps don't want a Staffie joining their walk and going home with them! Yes and oh how he loves to make new friends.
Herbert is a small black Staffie with a white star over his heart. He has had untreated skin condition and also due to his very happy tail personality has a sad looking tail which should improve once in a long term home environment. The kennel environment on top of his presenting poor physical condition will take awhile to fade. Herbert is happy to sleep in a kitchen and can be left. He is a happy clown content with his lot!
